PYHOL considers applications from homeowners throughout the city who meet these criteria:
(1) The homeowner must be 62 years of age or older OR must be disabled OR must qualify under the "very low income" or "low income" guidelines as set forth in the City of Lakeland, Florida, Housing Assistance Income Schedule.
(2) The homeowner must live in the home being nominated.
(3) The home must be in Lakeland, FL.
(4) The home must be a single story, single family dwelling.
(5) The home must be in such repair that PYHOL can actually paint the dwelling after only minor repairs are made.
(6) The home must actually need to be painted.
Important dates:
- December 31, 2007 - Homeowner applications due
- March 4, 2008, 6:30 p.m. (location to be announced) - Team leader orientation dinner
(leaders will receive house assignment)
- March 9, 2008 - Prep day (as needed)
- March 14, 2008, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Team representative(s) pick up supplies from
Bryant Stadium
- March 15, 2008 - Paint Day
